Case Closed

Today in Whetu we have found out who the person was that stole the chocolates and the HDMI cable the criminal was Mrs. Taaffe aka my Mum. The crime scene was in Whetu's milky way Ngatea Primary School.  Mrs. Taaffe stole the HDMI cable and around 18 milky ways. Mrs. Taaffe stole HDMI cable because she was having trouble casting with her computer and she stole the milky ways because she felt like on but she stole 18. Mrs. Taaffe disabled the alarm for the school in the office and then unlocked the door. Mrs. Taaffe committed the crime Friday the 9th of October. This morning Mrs. Taaffe came into team Whetu to confess some things and she said that yes to all our evidence.

Our evidence was that her fingerprints were all over the crime scene, Mrs. Taaffe parked in front of the office on the day of the crime and that is the way she went, Mrs. Taaffe was at school on the day of the crime, Mrs. Taaffe had a cut on her wrist, she went to the hairdressers after she took the milky ways and the HDMI cable and she likes mini chocolates.

Athletics 2020

This year for athletics I made it into all the running finals. I came 4th in the 60-meter final, 3rd for the 100 meter final and 2nd for the 200 meter Final. All the other years in athletics I had been into running but this year I was into the felid events. I'm not sure how I did in the long jump because I went strat to the back of the line once I did my jump. I did better than I thought I would in the shot put I'm pretty sure I came 2nd and my longest push was 7 meters and 4cm! In the 60 meter heat, I came 1st or 2nd, in the 100-meter heat I came 2nd, and for my 200-meter heat, I came 1st. For the relays, I was in the 8-9-year-old group for Orewa I had Desmond, Miller, Kian and we came 3rd.

New Zealand Famous Person

This term I have been working on A New Zealand famous person. For my famous person, I chose Jonah Lomu I chose him because I didn't know much about him and because I really like rugby. To do this I had to do some note-taking and then write a report and then Mrs. Kennedy printed it out and last I drew some things on it that represent Jonah Lomu.

This is my report and my photo!

Jonah Lomu

Jonah Lomu’s full name is Jonah Tali Lomu. Jonah was born in Auckland, New Zealand on 12th of May 1975. He lived in Tonga with his aunt and uncle for part of his childhood. His sister's names are Sela and Irene Lomu. Jonah’s brothers' names are John and Noah Lomu. Jonah Lomu had three wifes their names are fiona lomu, Tanya Rutter and latest wife was Nadene Quirk. Jonah’s kids' names are Dhyreille and Brayley lomu. Jonah Lomu’s parents' names are Semisi and Hepi Lomu. Jonah Lomu went to Wesley College as well.

Jonah Lomu had problems with his kidneys. The kidney disease he had was very rare and he was unlucky to be one of those people to be diagnosed with it.  He underwent a kidney transplant in 2004. In 2015 Jonah lomu died from a heart attack related to his kidney problem. There were three public services held to his Honour. He was only 40 years old when he died.

Jonah Lomu’s success is great, he was known all around the world.  He won the player of the tournament in the Rugby World Cup. Jonah Lomu scored four tries against England in a test International! Jonah Lomu made his test debut in 1995 against France at Lancaster Park in Christchurch and lost 22-8. Jonah Lomu was the youngest to play for the All Blacks! His age was 19 and 45 days old!

McDonalds named a burger after him in 1996 it was named the Jonah burger.

It would take four players to take down Jonah Lomu if he was playing his best.

There was a wax model of Jonah Lomu at the Madame Tussaud in London.

I chose Jonah lomu because I did not know much about him. I didn’t even know about his death and  I also chose him because I like rugby a lot!

Whetu cross county reflection

This year for cross country we didn't go to south farms to do it. This year we ran around the domain.

I came first again but to do that I had to run from the trees all the way to the finish line and I  just go there before Eli!

This is my reflection.

Cross Country Reflection 2020

This year I participated in the NPS Cross Country held at school on the Ngatea Domain.

I ran in the 9 age group.

I am most proud of not stopping when I felt like it. I am most proud of running all the way from the trees to

the finish line and by doing that I passed Eli and won. I am also proud of keeping my 1st place title!

( I have came first 4 years in a row.)

I think my effort towards our training at school was great. I think if I didn’t train I wouldn’t have come first

place. My highest amount of laps around the domain was 4 laps!

I showed the Learning Power of Resilience by not giving up at cross country when it got hard.

I made it to Hauraki plains cross country!

Week 1 Whangamata

On Monday, Mum, Kalie, Henry and I went over to the beach, (Whangamata). The Hitchcock's came over in the afternoon. We walked to the playground and watched a movie called Scooby-Doo.
On Tuesday we went for a big walk to the surf club. We had a drink at Blackies and then we walked home. The weather wasn't very good so we went and watched some boats in the harbour. Then we went to the Op Shop and we bought two books for Henry, they were Peppa Pig books and one of them has a Peppa Pig puppet that you can move around. And the other one has a clock on the top of it for learning to tell the time. Holly and Matilda came over on Tuesday afternoon. We went to the dairy to get ice creams. On the way home, Matilda and Henry jumped up and down in big puddles. They had to have a bath when they got back to the bach. And then we watched Fantastic Mr Fox and had fish and chips for dinner.
On Wednesday, we got up and went for another big walk along the beach to Blackies. We found a big log washed up on the beach. We just made it to Blackies in time before it started raining. Then we walked home and had lunch. After the HItchcocks went home, we went down to the harbour playground and played there for ages. We went into town and had ice cream at the ice cream parlour. Then Holly and Matilda went back to the bach and we went to Stirling Sports to buy some new shoes for Kalie and I. We got ready to go to the Boat Club for dinner. I had chicken sliders, two pieces of pizza and chips for my dinner.
On Thursday, we went for another big walk in the morning, but this time we went to the estuary. We found heaps of pieces of driftwood. There must have been a big storm that had changed the beach and the beach accesses were hard to get up and down. We made it around to the estuary where Henry got really wet! We walked home after that, packed up the car and came home.

Here are some photos from our first week of the school holidays.
